Mamelodi Sundowns will be firm favourites to collect maximum points when they host Stellenbosch FC in an Absa Premiership clash at the Loftus Stadium on Wednesday.

Sundowns have just arrived back in the country having played to a creditable goalless draw at Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.

The defending league champions have a big squad to choose from and coach Pitso Mosimane will no doubt make a few changes to his team in order freshen his charges up.

Sundowns know victory is imperative if they are to stay in touch with league leaders Kaizer Chiefs as the Tshwane club find themselves 13 points behind but do have two games in hand on the Amakhosi.

Stellenbosch, meanwhile, have made a good fist of their first campaign in South Africa's top-flight but do currently occupy last position on the PSL table.

The team from the Cape winelands will though take confidence from the fact that they collected a point in their last encounter in Tshwane as they played to a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United in their last game

Stellies though have not tasted victory since 26 October when they beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 at the Cape Town Stadium and will be hard pressed to get anything from the match on Wednesday.

The game will kick off at 19:30 on Wednesday at the Loftus Stadium.
