Golden Arrows will be looking to the double over Polokwane City when the sides meet in an Absa Premiership fixture at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday.
Arrows sneaked to a 1-0 victory over Rise and Shine in last weekend's Telkom Knockout first-round fixture thanks to a 101st-minute Nicholas Motloung own goal. Abafana Bes'thende are winless in their last five league fixtures and have conceded the second most goals in the league this season. Polokwane are on their own poor run of form, having lost their last three fixtures, including two in the league before the Arrows defeat. This, after making such a strong start to the season under new coach Zlatko Krmpotic which saw them sitting in second but has now seen them drop down to fourth. Krmpotic's job is apparently under threat, which shows just how the expectations have risen at the Limpopo-based club after their fifth-placed finish last season. But the Serb tactician is unconcerned by what he perceives to be just rumours. "If you want to make pressure, make pressure, no problem my friend. This is normal in football every day you know. If you play some players from development and you lose the game after extra time... no problem," the Rise and Shine mentor told KickOff. "Now we don't have bad results, we have very good results. Also we play semifinal in the MTN cup... these are very good results for Polokwane City, and I tell you if there's somebody who thinks he can do better than me, no problem. I don't think I now have to fight him for my job, no." The last time the sides met in the league, Polokwane won 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium back in March.
