Golden Arrows will be looking to bounce back from their Telkom Knockout disappointment when they travel to face Baroka FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Arrows were sent crashing out of the domestic competition with a 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday 13 days after having beaten the defending champions 3-2 in the league.
That victory over the Brazilians propelled Steve Komphela's side in to a very respectable fourth position. The fixture list has favoured Abafana Bes'thende as after the Baroka clash on Wednesday they will not have to travel far at all for Saturday's match with Black Leopards.
Komphela will be hoping for six points from those two fixtures, but their first hurdle against Bakgaga won't be an easy one as Wedson Nyirenda's side have drawn 0-0 with Sundowns and a 1-0 derby victory over Polokwane City in their last two fixtures.
As a result, the 2018 Telkom Knockout champions occupy 12th position on the standings. Nyirenda will know his side need to find the back of the net more regularly, having scored just seven goals in their 11 league fixtures last season.
The only thing that has saved them from being in the relegation zone is their decent defensive record, which has seen them concede nine in 11 matches.
Meanwhile, Arrows are the third highest top-scorers in the league, with in-form Zimbabwean striker Knox Mutizwa having grabbed seven of their 15 goals.
Mutizwa grabbed a brace in the 3-2 triumph over Sundowns, making him the joint top-scorer in the PSL this season and the Bakgaga defence can ill-afford to take their eye off the currently prolific striker.
