A recent 3-0 win over Coventry in the Carabao Cup earned Watford their first victory of the season.
This comes after their three straight losses in the Premier League. A 3-0 defeat to Brighton was quickly followed up with a 1-0 loss to Everton and a 3-1 defeat to West Ham.
Newcastle, on the other hand, picked up their first win when they beat Tottenham 1-0 away in North London.
That was a much needed win for the Magpies after they lost 1-0 to Arsenal and 3-1 to Norwich in their opening two games.
With the exception of that one win for Newcastle, both teams have come short of the mark in these early few weeks of the season.
