Brighton & Hove Albion v Tottenham Hotspur
Brighton & Hove Albion v Tottenham Hotspur
Brighton will look to win their first game since the opening weekend of the season when they welcome Tottenham to the AMEX Stadium. The Seagulls made a huge statement at the start of August when they beat Watford 3-0. Graham Potter then guided his team to a 1-1 draw against West Ham but their season has since taken a turn for the worst.
Defeats to Southampton, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Chelsea have seen them fall to 16th in the Premier League table.
Five points separate them and Tottenham, but Mauricio Pochettinos troops are low on confidence at the minute.
They were beaten 7-2 in the Champions League by Bayern Munich on Saturday, while they have won just two of their last five league games.
Spurs are without a league win in nine attempts on the road, and they have lost six of those games away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Pochettino has selection worries ahead of Saturdays early kick-off, with right-back Serge Aurier suspended after his red card against Southampton
Midfielders Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso also remain injured, but Brighton are set to welcome back several first-team stars.
Solly March, Leon Balogun and Alireza Jahanbakhsh are all set to return to the squad, but Potter could be without Davy Propper due to a hamstring injury.
Winder Leandro Trossard, Shane Duffy and Bernardo all remain out and could return after the international break.
Despite their recent form in all competitions, Tottenham have an excellent record against the south coast outfit. They have lost just twice against the Seagulls in the last 16 meetings.
