Embleton hopes for Wilkinson boost ahead of Grimsby clash
Leyton Orient head coach Ross Embleton will hope to call upon forward Conor Wilkinson for his first match in charge of the club full-time.
Embleton was made boss on a permanent basis on Tuesday after two interim spells this season and the O’s will entertain Grimsby on Saturday in Sky Bet League Two.
Dean Brill (hamstring), Sam Ling, Jobi McAnuff (both groin) and Brendon Shabani (knee) are all long-term absentees, but Wilkinson could be back after returning to training following a muscle injury earlier this month.
Joe Widdowson should also return, while goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux, who signed last week after leaving Everton de Vina del Mar, could be on the bench for the first time.
Grimsby will be without Luke Waterfall for their trip to the capital after he was sent off in the 1-0 win at Mansfield last weekend.
He will be suspended for three games, but Ian Holloway will have January signings Billy Clarke and Anthony Glennon available for Saturday’s match.
Jordan Cook suffered a calf injury upon his return from a groin issue last month and, although it is not too serious, he is expected to miss the trip to Orient.
Matt Green (groin) and James Hanson (calf) remain sidelined but should be back in contention during the next couple of weeks.v
