Portsmouth have sold Anton Walkes to MLS side Atlanta United for an undisclosed fee, the Sky Bet League One club have announced.

The 22-year-old, who joined Pompey from Tottenham in 2018, had made 19 appearances in all competitions this season.

He had a spell on loan with Atlanta earlier in his career.

Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett told his club’s website: “Anton’s girlfriend is from America and they have a daughter together, so this is a really good opportunity for him to make a new start over there.

“We understand his reasons for wanting to move away and wish him all the very best for the future.”
