In what promises to be one of the games of the round, Nottingham Forest take on West Brom.
Both teams were well in the promotion hunt last season but both came up short and face another gruelling year in the second tier of English football.
Looking at last season’s head to head games, we are expecting a tight encounter. The last two games both ended in draws – a result which this time round is priced quite attractively at 12/5.
West Brom kick started their pre-season campaign with a loss to Villarreal before managing a comprehensive 4-0 win over Scunthorpe. That was followed by two draws against Rotherham and Bournemouth.
Interestingly, Middlesbrough last our pre-season games have followed exactly the same path. A 3-0 defeat to Olympiacos was followed by a win over Crystal Palace and two draws against Real Sociedad and Lincoln.
Both teams are strong and they’re both expected to do well this season. Bearing everything in mind, betting on a draw would seem to most sensible way to go.
