Elliot Lee and Andrew Shinnie could keep places in Luton team
Luton boss Graeme Jones may keep faith with the players who played in the FA Cup defeat at Bournemouth last weekend as they host Birmingham in the Sky Bet Championship.
Despite the 4-0 scoreline, which Jones felt flattered the Cherries, he was impressed with the likes of striker Elliot Lee and midfielder Andrew Shinnie after recalling them to the starting line-up, with the duo poised to retain their places against the Blues.
Jones, though, still has a number of injury concerns as his side look for a win that could lift them off the foot of the table.
Striker Danny Hylton is closing in on a return from a knee injury, while defender Dan Potts is again doubtful with a groin problem. Izzy Brown (hamstring) and Brendan Galloway (patella) are long-term absentees.
Blues midfielder Ivan Sunjic is banned following his dismissal just two minutes after coming on as a substitute in last week’s FA Cup win over Blackburn.
The club’s injury worries, meanwhile, are starting to ease but not in time for the trip to Luton.
Defender Marc Roberts, out with an ankle injury since the end of November, should be available for next weekend’s home clash with Cardiff after returning to training this week.
Midfielder Maikel Kieftenbeld, sidelined for the past nine months with an ACL injury, is also back with the squad and could be playing again either later this month or in early February.
